Federal Advocacy

Beacon considers Small Business Advocacy to be an important part of our mission. Having benefited from the hard work and dedication of many individuals and organizations before us, we believe that we have an active role to play in bolstering the Federal innovation ecosystem.

Our commitment to this role is reinforced by the appointment of our CEO, ML Mackey, to the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Invention, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Federal Advisory Committee (IIEAC). Here she will advise the U.S. SBA on policy to foster a thriving and equitable environment for Small Business and Startup innovation.

Mackey is also a member of The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine U.S. Army Science & Technology Roundtable. Contributing to a forum in which science and technology priorities are shared, and harmony is found across the needs and capabilities of government, industry research and development, and academia programs.

Our advocacy takes shape through thought leadership in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship.
